“Oh, no. Not again!” Cried Riku, slapping his spelling test against his desk. The bright red ‘F’ scrawled across the top mocked his pain as he looked across at Axel’s A.
“Oh, yes, again. Got it memorized?” laughed Axel, waving it at Riku. Sora gave his friend a reassuring pat on the back.
“Just get used to it, man. You’re still better than most of us at History, at least.” He said, trying to make him feel better, though he was trying to hide a grin as he covered his own A.
“Phh! Not Namine.” He poked the boy in front of him in the back. “Hey Roxas, what’cha get?” He asked.
“I swear to God, Mr. Zexion hates me.” He sighed, before crumpling his F paper up quietly and tossing it onto the floor.
“Cheer up, dude. It’s not that bad. Stop being so serious all the time!” laughed Hayner, who proceeded to slap him on the back.
“Well, I for one, still did better than both of you idiots combined.” Said Larxene smugly, waving her B+ in Riku and Roxas’ faces. Riku snatched it away.
”Hey, wait a minute!” She cried, surprised when Riku leaned back to pass it to Axel, who set it on fire. Larxene balled up her fists.
“Hey, come on! That’s no fun!” Axel started to say something smug, but a shot of lightening hit him in the rear, and he jumped out of his seat, crying out before he grabbed at the sparking spot. Larxene giggled as their teacher turned around, his cool glare boring into Axel. His face turned red as he sat down, embarrassed.
“That’s what you deserve,” She whispered, giggling. Mr. Zexion tapped the board impatiently.
“Let’s get started then, shall we?”

The group trotted out of school.
“Hey guys!” cried Sora, turning around as they past the local theatre. A poster had caught his eye.
“Oh my god!” Kairi said, running up to see, “I’ve been waiting to see this! There’s a midnight showing tonight!” She giggled, giddy.
“Hm… Well, I have wanted to see that too…” mumbled Riku, looking up at the poster.
“Boy, you guys want to see that? It’s just a spoof off of that other movie.” Larxene pointed at another poster.
“Aw, come on, Larxene. It’s funnier than the original!” begged Namine, who was standing next to her.
“Hey, where’d Axel go-?” Asked Hayner, looking around. Axel was standing by the booth. He strolled back over, a smug smile on his face.
“…Okay, spill. What did you just do?” asked Demyx, raising an eyebrow suspiciously.
I just bought nine tickets to see it. Now you guys owe me one!” He cackled. Sora was speechless. Riku just shook his head.
“Oh, dear. What the hell do you want us to do this time?” Asked Roxas, mock fear on his face.
This time, you all have to come to my family reunion. They’re all so boring, I need something to give me an excuse to get away from my crazy cousins,” He shuddered.
“…They can’t use fire, can they?” Riku asked hesitantly.
“…Maybe.”
“Okay, I’m buying my own ticket. Later.” Said Riku, briskly walking away. Demyx grabbed the back of his shirt.
“I’ll put you out if you catch fire again Riku, I swear!” he said, voice pleading. Riku rolled his eyes.
“Suuuuuure you will. Just like last time, when you were rolling on the ground laughing while I was stuck upside-down, hanging from the roof by my ankles, all the while I was on fire. He said, glaring. Demyx smiled sheepishly.
“Well, you should have known better than to try and hit Axel with a water balloon from up there. I think it would be pretty obvious he’d shoot you. And it’s not my fault you tripped and your pants got caught on the ledge. You shoulda saved that balloon,” He defended.
“Yeah, suuuuuure. Sora, are you going?” Riku said, sighing as he shook Demyx’s hand of his collar.
“Yeah, I guess so. It sounds like fun. Besides, if anyone’s going to catch fire, it’s gonna be you, not me,” He giggled. Riku glared.
“Fine, fine, I guess I’m coming to, then. Anywho, movies at midnight. I’ve gotta get home and finish my English project-“
“You haven’t finished that?” Gasped Kairi incredulously, “It’s due tomorrow!”
“-and I’ll meet you guys here tonight. Later.” He said, shouldering his backpack, before walking to the bus stop as the bus pulled up.
“I’ve gotta get home too. My fish should be getting hungry,” sighed Roxas, who ambled off in the opposite direction.
“Later,” said Sora, who smiled at everyone before walking off in the same direction as Roxas. The group split up, ambling off in their own directions homeward.

“I’m not supposed to be out this late…” said Sora uneasily, glancing around. Riku looked up as Sora and Roxas walked over.
“Oh, grow a backbone, Sora. You are a teenager, aren’t you?” He asked, pocketing his PSP.
“Me neither, got it memorized?” Said Axel, a smug smile on his face. Larxene showed up, trailing Namine and Kairi. Demyx sat down next to Axel, and proceed to drop a box on the ground. Without a word, he started playing his Sitar, quite well, really. Only a few people were there this late, Sora suspected they were drug dealers, but they dropped a few dollars in his box, anyway. Hayner trotted up, a few dollars for popcorn clutched nervously in his hand.
The group walked in, bought three tubs of popcorn to share and a refillable Coke. They trotted in and sat in the front row, where Sora proceeded to scream every time something jumped out and screamed ‘boo’, cried every time one of the antagonists died, laughed whenever someone said something even mildly funny, and broke into hysterics when the main character died at the end. They had to wait through the entire credits and the janitors had finished cleaning the sticky stuff off the floor before he had composed himself enough to walk out into public.
“Sheesh, Sora, you’re so predictable,” sighed Riku, dragging his friend along, “hey Kairi, this lump you call a guy is getting’ all soppy on us-“ he turned around, and his smile melted into a frown when he realized she wasn’t there.
“Hey, Kairi!” He called, looking around. The rest of the group followed suit curiously.
“Oh, she probably got nervous and went home. Come on, we probably should too. Boy, our parents’ll be mad if they found out.” Said Sora nervously, sniffling.

“Hey, Riku!” laughed Sora, hi-fiving his friend, “Your parents find out?”
“Nope. I’m good.” Riku grinned. Namine walked up.
“I called Kairi this morning, but she didn’t pick up her cell. And she’s not here, either. I’m getting nervous…” She admitted, worried.
“She’s probably late again. Her clocks still broken, isn’t it?” He asked, furrowing his brow in thought as he tried to recall if she’d fixed her alarm.
“Well, yeah, but…”
“Aw, she’s fine. Come on, you’ll see her in third period, right?” Sora laughed, and patted her shoulder, “She’s fine, I know it.”

Namine looked around, searching for her friend. It was third period English now, and she was desperately nervous. The bell rang. No sign of her. Namine’s heart dropped to her feet.
“She’s not here!” She cried, turning to look at Sora, who was starting to get nervous as well.
“Let’s call her house after school.”
“But, what if-“
“Let’s begin today’s lesson!”

Sora pulled out his phone. Him and his group of his friend had mobbed the conveniently placed McDonalds next to the school.
He sighed, “She’s not picking up her cell. I guess we should call her house…” He mumbled to himself, and dialed the number.
“Hello?” Asked an anxious adult voice Sora recognized as Kairi’s mother.
“Yeah, it’s Sora. Is Kairi there?”
“No, she’s not. Have you seen her? She hasn’t been home all day,” She said, her voice strained with motherly worry.
Sora’s heart leapt into his throat, and he gulped it back down.
“No, sorry, we haven’t. Never mind, I’ll call back later…” He said, and hung up. Namine looked at him expectantly.
“She’s gone.”
“Where?”
“I… I don’t know,” Sora bit his lip, “something must have happened at the movie. Did anyone see anything strange happen? Wait- Wait a minute!” He cried, jumping up.
“Who brought popcorn home?” He asked urgently.
“Sora, this is hardly the time for-“ started Larxene, but Sora cut her off.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever. Just tell me!” He cried. Everyone stared at him a moment.
”Uh… I brought one home,” piped in Riku.
”So did I,” added Axel. Everyone was silent.
“No one else? We bought three, and we only left with two, right? Did Kairi get up to refill one?” He asked.
“Hey, yeah, I think she did! But… I don’t remember her coming back.” said Riku, thinking.
“What about her purse? Did she have her purse?” Sora said, realization setting in horribly.
“She didn’t leave with it…”
“We have to get to the theatre, right now,” said Sora, who immediately leapt up, and started running. The theatre wasn’t far.
“Hey wait up, don’t be so-!” Riku’s words were lost as he jumped up, chasing his friend.
Sora skidded to a halt in front of the theatre. Breathing heavily, he ran up to the incredibly bored looking ticket boy.
“Did- did- did you find a purse here? About midnight in theatre six? Front row, red. Small.” He said, desperately describing it.
“Hm? Oh, yeah, we did find one. Why?”
“It’s… my girlfriend’s. Can I get it back? She’ll kill me if I come back without it.” Sora said, lying through his teeth.
“…Alright. Gimme a sec.” The man trotted off, then came back and handed him the purse.
“Thanks so much,” Sora said, and ran back, before running into Riku, who was only a few feet behind him. He fell over, rolling backward head over heels. He lost his grip on the purse handle, and its contents went everywhere.
Sora stared in fear at the folded up paper note that looked so out of place. Kairi had this paranoia of folding things. She said it made things lose their meanings. Sora crawled forward, and picked up the note, unfolding it.
“’Bring the Light to me. ‘” Said Sora shakily, reading the scrawled black words written on the page, “’Bring me Sora, or she dies. I am not a patient man. Behind the Theatre, 1 AM, tomorrow night. I have all your phones tapped, even your cells. Call the police or tell anyone and she dies.’”
Keheheheheh, I never liked Kairi much. XD And how come whenver you read fanfiction of them all somehow in Highschool together, they always have Axel and Demyx, and no one else? (out of org. XIII) Sure, they have Zexio or Vexen as a teacher or something, but you never really see Larxene. That makes me sad, I though she was an awesome character. It's said that they never made CoM for PS2 in America. Ah, well. They would have butchered her voice, and I think they did great with her in Japanese.
